Springs Mall celebrates heritage through arts and crafts

Local young entrepreneurs showcased their handmade products at the Springs Mall pop-up market on Saturday.

As part of Heritage Day celebrations, Springs Mall held its pop-up market on Saturday.
The pop-up market hosted local young entrepreneurs, creators, designers, crafters, and innovators who sold handmade and original products.
Among the sellers was Duduzile Hadebe, who sold handmade jewellery. She said she started making her products when she lost her job.

“Being unemployed did not stop me from using my God-given talent. I did not want to add to the unemployment statistics.
“I love what I do because it allows me to be creative and it makes me proud to see people wearing my products,” she said.
Local artist Luvuyo Dlova, who makes a living out of drawing, showcased his latest pieces at the pop-up market.
He says every drawing he does is inspired by his surrounding community.
“I am inspired by everything that is happening in my community and it would only make sense to be able to put onto paper the people who contributed to who I am today. I’m grateful for such opportunities that allow fellow entrepreneurs to be able to bring out their talents,” said Luvuyo.
