Local models crowned at Miss Teen South Africa 2022
Newly crowned models Zoë-Kay van der Merwe and Megan Roodt say working hard and not giving up on their passion is what brought them this far.
After what seemed to be a tough competition in the Miss Teen South Africa pageant for local models Zoë-Kay van der Merwe and Megan Roodt, they were amazed by the various titles they won.
Zoë-Kay and Megan competed in various categories on October 8 at the event that was organised by Carolyn Baldwin Botha of Pageants SA, held at the ACPP Hall in Pretoria.
Sixteen-year-old Zoë-Kay won the title of Petite Teen Miss Teen South Africa 2022, Petite Teen Miss Teen Universe 2022 and Miss Ekurhuleni 2022. She was also crowned the first princess as Supreme Queen.
Thirteen-year-old Megan won the title of Mini Miss Teen South Africa 2022, Mini Miss Teen Universe South Africa 2022 and Supreme Queen 2022.

“I was excited about being crowned in the different categories. It was an emotional yet fun experience. The competition was very challenging, hence, I never thought I would walk away with the title,” said Zoë-Kay.
Megan, who doubted herself for a while, said the announcement of her name came as a shock as well.
“I knew that my competition was tough but what I didn’t know was that I would win. I was very happy and proud of myself for being crowned,” said Megan.
Through their recent achievement, both models have been invited to represent SA in the international pageant held in Turkey in May 2023.
