Selcourt Methodist Church youth hosts carwash fundraiser
The weather did not stop the youth at Selcourt Methodist Church from having their car wash fundraiser.
Selcourt Methodist Church hosted a fundraising car wash on October 29 in a bid to raise funds for a family outreach.
Thato Sekhoela, who held the event very close to her heart, says she was propelled to raise funds after hearing about a family who is in need.
“We were told about the situation that the family was in and I could not just sit back and not do anything to help,” said Thato.
“The family had received other donations, but the youth thought it would be best to support them financially.”
“I don’t know the family personally but after I had visited them, I thought it would be best to do something for them,” said Thato.
The youth said their carwash fundraiser had a favourable outcome.
