A day of staff appreciation at Far East Rand Hospital

Staff from the Far East Rand Hospital were awarded during the staff recognition and appreciation awards on November 17.

Far East Rand Hospital (FERH) employees were honoured on November 17 for their contributions to the hospital.

“Staff members who have served for 20 and 30 years were also given a token of appreciation for their dedication to servicing the public,” said Phumza Ntuthuka, FERH communications officer.

Representatives from the central office led by Dr Sipho Sinabe, district office led by chief director of Ekurhuleni Health Terrance Magoro and CEO’s from various hospitals in Gauteng were present at the recognition and appreciation awards.

Mary Kgomo from the hospital’s cleaning department was named the best employee winner for the year.
“Unathi Madolo, who competed in the Comrades Marathon, was also given recognition. He won the best sports personnel of the year award.

“After so many years this was our first event to be hosted by the hospital. It was an event of glitz and glamour. We saw more than 30 staff members in different categories being rewarded for their hard work,” said Nthuthuka.

Hospital CEO Sonwabo Lindani encouraged staff members to do their work to the best of their ability for the benefit of all the patients they serve.

“Continue to serve with a smile and may management commit to ensuring a conducive environment for rendering quality patient care,” said Lindani.
