A pamper day for the homeless

Another street shower is on the cards for Springs.

Redeem Life will host another street shower in Strubenvale on May 6.

“The street shower is for the homeless and the destitute living on the streets of Springs. They are invited to spend the day getting spoilt and loved,” explained Redeem Life’s founder, Winifred du Preez.

During the shower, the beneficiaries enjoy warm showers, haircuts, new clothes and shoes, and then ministered to.

“We also help them to draw up their CVs. The last station will be where they will sit down, and waiters will serve them food,” she added.

Du Preez says the event aims to show them the love of God.

“We hope the day’s events will help to restore their dignity with love into their lives. We ask the community of Springs to get involved,” she said.

The organisation needs blankets, socks and jeans (size 28-34) for men.

“The renting of the showers and toilets is a huge cost for the day.”

This event will take place at AGS Lofoord, Stasie Crescent, Strubenvale. The organisation’s ultimate goal is to create a homeless shelter in Springs.
