Armed robbery suspects stopped in their tracks
The trio were nabbed in Brakpan after a robbery in Springs.
Teamwork between security companies and Brakpan SAPS resulted in the arrest of three suspected armed robbers in Dalpark on Sunday.
According to Brakpan SAPS communications officer Constable Audrey Buthelezi, the men were nabbed shortly after a business owner was robbed at gunpoint in Springs.
Brakpan’s Crime Prevention Unit members were patrolling when they received information from a security company at around 09:40 about the suspects heading to Brakpan.

The trio were travelling in a grey Ford Figo.
“Secure Tech members had already identified the Figo and crime prevention members and other law enforcers gave chase as soon as it was seen in Brakpan. The suspects were cornered along Athlone Avenue,” she said.
“Upon searching the vehicle, members found two unlicensed firearms and ammunition, one set of false number plates and goods believed to have been stolen during the robbery.”
The men, aged 34, 39 and 40, were arrested and detained at the Brakpan Police Station.

The firearms, ammunition and stolen goods were seized and the Figo was booked in for being used in the commission of a crime.
Brakpan SAPS station commander Brigadier Fredl Jonck applauded the arrest and encouraged teamwork.
Security companies who assisted the crime prevention unit were Secure Tech Security, CP Security and Graphite Security.
