WATCH: Rus n Bietjie back in full swing

On stage, Amor encouraged her audience to live like there is no tomorrow.

Singer Amor Vittone lit up the stage at Rus n Bietjie Home of the Elderly’s soup and sherry event on Saturday.
The audience matched her energy as they sang along.

Many of the residents were visited by friends and family, who also enjoyed the event.

The home for the elderly took a huge knock during the Covid-19 lockdown period but they have since seen a positive recovery.

“We have done so much to try and lift the spirits of the residents and our efforts are paying off,” said Elize Sewell, the home’s new manager.

She explained that many of the units have been renovated, including the hall where the event took place.

Sewell said that they have reached 98% capacity for the first time in years. On stage Amor encouraged her audience to live like there is no tomorrow.

“I had to be really sick to realise the value of life and I promised myself that when I get better, I will live and enjoy every moment moving forward,” she added.

The attendants enjoyed a three-course meal with their sherry.
