The man was hijacked while on his way to a tavern in Slovo Park.
The Springs police are investigating a hijacking and kidnapping case after a man was hijacked in Slovo Park on September 13.
According to Sergeant Themba Tshabalala, the Springs SAPS spokesperson, the man was driving to a local tavern when he noticed two vehicles, a Toyota Quantum and an Audi, blocking the road ahead.
“Six armed men approached him, then pushed him into the boot of his white Toyota Hilux,” said Tshabalala.
The robbers drove around with their victim, later tying him up and pushing him into the Quantum.
“They robbed him of his cellphones and other personal belongings.
“After driving for some time, the man was dropped off in Ivory Park in Tembisa, where he managed to get assisted by community members,” said Tshabalala.
The man was uninjured. The police have not yet made any arrests.
