Springs hosts archery event

The competition was a three-day affair.

Dynamic Archery, an archery school in Springs, hosted the Inter-Provincial Archery Competition last week.

The competition comprised 971 archers from across SA and was held at the Springs Indoor Centre and the Springs Technical High School.

The competition started on Wednesday and ended on Friday. It consisted of the Bull’s Eye challenge, where archers shot at a paper target with coloured rings.

The other leg of the competition was the 3D challenge, where targets represented animals.

The Bull’s Eye challenge was at the Springs Indoor Sport Centre, and the 3D challenge was at the Springs Technical High School.

Dynamic Archery had 12 members who comprised Ekurhuleni’s provincial team.

The team achieved the following:

Silver for the Ekurhuleni high school A-team:

  • Noel Flaherty
  • Zhaar Taljaardt
  • Schalk Burgers

Bronze for the Ekurhuleni primary school team:

  • Ryan Botha
  • Franco Wilken
  • Marno Burgers

Individual Grade Eight bronze:

  • Zander de Wet
