Cupcakes of Hope hosts a cupcake day
Cupcakes of Hope is a non-profit company and public benefit organisation dedicated to assisting children diagnosed with cancer across South Africa.
Cupcakes of Hope (COH) is celebrating a monumental success in its fundraising campaign during International Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September and on National Cupcake Day on September 30.
Through its dedicated efforts and generous support, COH raised R2 278 525 during the campaign.
In September, COH encouraged South Africans to host a ‘Party of Hope’ where participants could pledge to bake 24 or 48 cupcakes to raise funds individually.
On September 30, volunteers could join any of the 60 malls taking part in COH’s National Cupcake Day initiative.
At these locations, volunteers supported cupcake sales, offered their time, and assisted in fundraising. Sandy Cipriano, the founder of COH, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support received.
“The true strength of Cupcakes of Hope lies in the heart and commitment of every volunteer who passionately contributed to this cause.
“Their dedication and hard work made a difference, allowing us to extend our support to the many families battling the challenges of childhood cancer.
“I thank every volunteer for helping us sprinkle hope and joy to these courageous young souls and their families.”
COH continues its endeavour to uplift families facing the circumstances of childhood cancer. They have offered support to over 506 families this year alone as medical treatment or daily necessities, such as transport costs to hospitals, nourishing food, warm clothing, and nappies.
Each donation made to COH ensures that life for families affected by childhood cancer becomes a little easier and more hopeful.

With every cupcake baked and every rand raised, COH remains committed to its mission to offer financial and emotional relief to children with cancer and their families.
As another successful campaign concludes, the organisation looks forward to greater achievements, thanks to the tireless efforts of its supporters, volunteers, and partners like Mugg and Bean.
Mugg and Bean committed to donating a portion of the sales from its giant Muggles muffin, and as a result, has already raised an amount of R1.5m for 2023.
“Being part of such an impactful initiative with Cupcakes of Hope has been a humbling experience for Mugg and Bean. We are proud to join hands with them to make a difference in the lives of these brave children and their families,” shared Deeolan Govender, marketing executive at Mugg and Bean.
They highlighted their continued generosity when they pledged to maintain their support because, for every giant muffin purchased after September, they will donate R1 to COH until 2024, ensuring sustained support for this cause.
