Fashion enthusiast takes it to the ramp
Thabiso Lesemola (26) is taking his love for fashion to the ramp.
Springs resident Thabiso Lesemola (26) aims to redefine gender stereotypes in modelling through his love for fashion.
Thabiso says he became a model because of his passion for fashion and the impact on his confidence when smartly dressed.
“Also, as I started looking up the roles and characteristics in the industry; I fell more in love with it.”
He adds he was inspired to participate in pageantry to challenge the perception that pageants, fashion, and beauty are only for women.
“This made me want to break the stereotype to say that male models can also enter pageants,” says Thabiso.
“I also wanted to raise awareness that pageants are about the impact one brings to society by uplifting and developing people.”
In taking his modelling career to greater heights, Thabiso recently joined Mister Revolve South Africa. This pageant revolves around driving the impact to change lives through quality education for all.
The pageant also seeks to raise awareness of HIV/Aids.
“Our obligation as the finalists is to unlock the potential of bringing change through social and economic issues that may be diverting the general growth and development of human existence in all disadvantaged communities.”
As part of community involvement, Thabiso will host an awareness campaign, ‘Men also need protection’, where he will mentor young men on how to tackle daily social challenges.
He plans a clean-up campaign to get the youth hands-on with their community.
