They shall not be forgotten
The day is celebrated annually to honour the almer mater of the school and fallen soldiers.
The warm skies opened up to welcome the attendees of the annual Springs Boys’ High School Remembrance Day on Friday.
Loved ones and past learners arrived to honour those who had passed on during the world wars and those whose feet had graced the corridors of the school.
This event is celebrated yearly in commemoration of Poppy Day, a day celebrated globally, which signifies the end of World War One.
The day, which is observed on the 11th day of the 11th month, was attended by representatives from neighbouring schools and the TS Springs Sea Cadets.
Members from the Memorable Order of Tin Hats (Moths) also attended and led the Moths ceremony.
Members of the school choir and the school band graced the day with musical pieces that helped to mark the day and remind people of its gravity and significance.
Wreaths and plaques were placed in honour of the fallen soldiers, as well as loved ones who were almamaters of the school.
