Far East celebrates staff excellence
A total of 69 nursing staff were recognised for their clinical contributions to the health service at the Far East Rand Hospitals award ceremony.
The Far East Rand Hospital (FERH) recently held its awards ceremony to recognise the excellent services rendered by the nursing staff during the year.
The annual award ceremony celebrated staff excellence and long-serving and retiring staff from the hospital.
On the day, 37 retirees were recognised for their contribution to the institution to ensure excellent service to patients during their time in the facility.
Twenty-eight employees who have served the hospital for 20 years were honoured, three commended for their 30 years of service, and Delinah Ngobeni was recognised for her 40 years of service.
Keeping staff members motivated, FERH CEO Sonwabo Lindani rewarded the top three achievers with the CEO’s Special Award category for this year. Lindani thanked the retirees for ensuring that they serve the public with respect, love and dignity.
“Thank you for the good foundation that they have laid for the new generation in the workplace. You may be retired, but we will always come to you to seek wisdom,” he said.
He motivated all the staff members to continue to serve patients with a smile. One of the retirees, Patricia Mengesi, could not hold back her excitement as she received her presents from hospital management.
“It has been a good journey to work for FERH and part of me will always be part of this institution’s family,” said an excited Mengesi.
