Man arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Bakerton on Wednesday.
The Springs SAPS arrested a male from Bakerton in connection with the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition on Wednesday.
SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Themba Tshabalala said the Springs Crime Prevention Unit responded to information received about the man.
“On arrival, they searched the premises and found the firearm hidden under his pillow,” said Tshabalala.
“The serial number was filed off, and it had one magazine and three live 9mm ammunition rounds.”
The man was detained at the Springs Police Station and will appear at the Springs Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
