Good Samaritan saves shopping
Yvonne is looking for the lady who saved her shopping when she forgot it at the mall.
A kind stranger helped bring smiles to a Selection Park resident this festive season. Yvonne Müller, her sister Terisa, and a friend were having lunch at an eatery at Springs Mall on December 28.
When they had finished their meal, they left the place with Yvonne forgetting her shopping on the seat.
Yvonne said they had already left the mall when they realised she left behind the shopping.
“I was stressed out and thought that someone had taken the bag. I felt terrible that I left the bag there.”
Her worries were soon turned into smiles of joy when she returned to the mall to find a stranger keeping her shopping safe.
“I was relieved and very thankful when this lady said she waited for me.
She says the incident gave her hope in the kindness of people.
“It felt good because I didn’t think there would still be good people in the world we live in now.”
Yvonne says she regrets not getting the name of the good Samaritan and now she doesn’t know how to extend her gratitude.
“I would just like to tell her that I’m grateful that she kept my shopping bag and waited for me. She has a good heart and I don’t think a lot of people of today would have done that.”

Yvonne’s search for the lady has been especially frustrating because she does not work at the mall.
She says she has posted on social media and has enlisted the help of Springs Mall to help find the lady who saved her shopping.
As the search continues, she leaves residents with parting words of hope.
“I would like to tell the people let’s all look out for one another. If we stand together and help others, then everything would be better in this world we live in. A small act of kindness won’t cost you anything.”
