Police nab man for stolen truck

The EMPD arrested a 32-year-old male Malawian national man for a case in Mpumalanga, including possession of a suspected stolen vehicle.

An EMPD intelligence-driven operation led to the recovery of a Toyota Dyna truck as well as the arrest of a 32-year-old Malawian national on Sunday morning.

According to the EMPD, the police received information about the truck being sought in a case in Embalenhle, Mpumalanga.

Coordinates were then followed, leading the police to locate the truck at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Second Street in Bakerton.

The officers tactically approached the truck, which had one occupant inside, who was lawfully apprehended.

He was detained at the Springs Police Station, where the truck was booked in for further investigation.

The truck driver is facing charges of possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.

He appeared at the Springs Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

The EMPD says it is narrowing the space for criminals.
