Twins tear up the dirt tracks
The duo started taking dirt bike riding seriously in 2019.
Hanroux and Raynard Lategan are a killer duo on the dirt track. The 15-year-olds from Eastvale each started a YouTube channel, born from their love of dirt bike riding.
Hanroux and Raynard started dirt bike riding in 2019. The success of other YouTubers inspired them to start their channel.
“I watched videos of other YouTubers and how they were riding and wanted to share how I was riding,” says Raynard.
The twins each have their own channels, which allow them to showcase their talents. Their proud parents, Wilmien Langlois (37) and Rhyno (36), talked about their sons’ dreams.
“The boys started asking for action cameras, then later upgraded to GoPro cameras, which they used to shoot footage when riding. At first, they watched YouTube a lot and then decided that was something they wanted to do,” says Wilmien.
She adds she was initially not enthusiastic about the idea because of social media fears and worries as a mother.

“I never said anything about it; just prayed; and I still pray constantly for their safety and protection.
“Mothers tend to be over-protective, but I eased down when I saw their passion and excitement and at just the fact that they love what they do,” she remarks.
Rhyno, who played a big part in their love for dirt bikes, also fell in love with the sport at a young age.
“Their dad grew up with a biker dad and granddad going to biker rallies occasionally, so he’s a natural biker on and off the road. He introduced the boys to biking at a young age, but they only started riding frequently since 2019,” she says.
She says their father was the one who taught the twins, along with their eldest brother Devan Sonnekus (18), basic tricks and supported them financially.
“Finances are somewhat an issue from time to time, as dirt biking is an expensive hobby to maintain.

“Dad has taught them to fix their own bikes as nothing lasts forever and things break during riding,” says Wilmien proudly.
Rhyno wants the boys to keep following their dreams and progresses to higher heights with their passion for biking and their YouTube channels.
“We support them with anything humanly possible as far as possible,” she declares.
The twins both say riding dirt bikes is a physically straining sport, but Hanroux says he loves the challenge.
“Anyone can start riding bikes if they want to with full commitment,” adds Raynard.
Both have not competed in competitions yet but would like to participate in them soon.
The boys’ focus remains on their schooling careers first, then they follow in their passion. When they are not dirt biking, they indulge in fishing.
“If you want to do something, don’t let others stop you,” encourages Hanroux.
The twins’ YouTube channels are respectively Enduroking SA and Enduro Laaties.
