Here is a look at what is going on in Springs.

• April 13
The Bhairavi Sungum of Springs will host a lavish celebration to mark the 31st anniversary of the Tamil New Year. The community is invited to the celebration at the Bakerton Community Centre on 1st Avenue, Bakerton, at 14:30.

The celebration will feature Yovani Naidoo, with dance performances by the Sarvashiva Dance Academy and the Desi Motion Dance Academy. Entrance is free and supper will be served. For further inquiries, contact Deloshnee Naidoo on 082 052 6426 or bhairavisungum@gmail.com.

• April 27
Kwasa College Pre and Primary School in Daggafontein will host a musical celebration in the Welsh tradition concert featuring the Welsh Male Voice Choir of South Africa. The event will start at 14:30. Tickets cost R150 and for seniors and students R100, this includes refreshments. • April 28
The Springs Sanathan Ved Dharam Sabha cordially invites all community members, family and friends to join in their Annual 108 Hanuman Chalisa Recitals. The venue will be the Shree Vishnu Mandir on Honeysuckle Drive, Bakerton. Prayer will begin from 05:00 onwards. For further details contact the organisation on 082 436 6930.

• 3-4 Mei
Die Hervormde Kerk Selcourt bied die jaarlikse Watertoring Fees aan te Kariba Park in Selcourt (oorkant die watertoring). Daar sal verskeie kosstalletjies, vermaak asook talle uitstallers.

• Meat World Springs hosts a food market every Saturday from 06:30 to 14:00. With this, Meat World Springs is calling on all vendors to apply to participate. Send your name, ID number and the name and a photograph of the food product you wish to sell for consideration to marketing@meatworld.co.za or call 011 815 1494.

• The Springs Farmers’ Market runs every Saturday. Buy fresh, affordable produce, arts and crafts, delicious food and milk. The venue is Den Akker at President’s Park and it runs from 07:00 to 12:00.
