SOB Cricket Club celebrates memorable season

The cricket club has only grown from strength to strength over the years.

Springs Old Boys (SOB) Cricket Club was established in 1946 and celebrates its 78th anniversary this year.

Chairperson Lionel Joubert has been involved with SOB for the past 17 years and coaching at primary and high schools for 25 years.

His involvement with teams and qualified coaches contributed to the memorable season.

After Covid, the club grew with Saturday 2nd league and Sunday senior Colts, Promotion, Directors and over 40’s leagues.

Nine teams of the club contest the junior league – two U8 teams, three U10 teams, three U12 teams and the U14s.

Three teams made it to the ECCA Cricket semi-final – U10, U12 and U14. Both U12 and U14 ended in second place.

Easterns is hosting a Winter T20 League programme where SOB has entered two teams, the U10s and U13s.
