Natalie’s journey of healing, hope and love

"God has given me a talent to write from the heart, that's where the beauty lies."

Take a walk into Natalie Flaherty’s world as she introduces you to her story. Her new anthology, My Broken Everything, is a collection of poems and conversations with God.

“My journey has been hard and long but now I am ready to face the world again. I am so thankful for God who has given me a new purpose in life, such as my book and teaching music at schools.”

Natalie (41), who hails from Selcourt, says the book that has taken many years to write is her testimony.

“The book is about the beauty that is still in this world and to take control and face your situations like a giant.”

She has a passion and love for children with special needs and loves to connect with those who need it most.

“People are beautiful, life is beautiful, South Africa is beautiful and that is something I think we often forget when times are really hard.”

Natalie hopes to bring positivity into people’s lives and remind them to practice some gratitude.

“Imagine we could support each other as a people of many races and religions supporting each other in this tough life. In South Africa, there are many things to be thankful for. We have lovely people still with hope despite the struggles we face.”

My Broken Everything was launched at George’s Bread and Co on April 27. The book can be found at Plaaslik Deli Springs and Homestead Blossom Florist.
