Disney fans and theatre lovers are reminded to save the date because the Peoples Theatre will end its 2024 season with Disney’s Aladdin, running between November 5 and December 22.
This story revolves around Aladdin, a charming street urchin who embarks on the adventure of a lifetime with his larger-than-life friend, the Genie.
Together, they set out to protect Princess Jasmine’s throne.
This tale resonates with audiences of all ages, speaking to the humanity we can all relate to, hope, friendship, and the quest for belonging.
Director Jill Girard said the story combines all the elements of exciting live entertainment.
“The musical will captivate young audiences and remind grown-ups that there is a child-like sparkle in all of us,” said Girard.
“There is no better way to end off the year.”
The cast includes Raymond Skinner (Aladdin), Nomakhosi Mkhonza (Princess Jasmine), Luciano Zuppa (Genie and various characters), Sean McGrath (Jafar), Joelle McGrath (Iago and other characters) and Katlego Nche (Sultan, Carpet and other characters).

The show times for schools are Tuesday to Friday at 09:00 and 11:00. Show times for the public are on weekends and school holidays at 10:30 and 14:30.
Entry is R165 per person, R130 if you are a Peoples Theatre Kids Club member and R140 for the public accompanying members.
