SBHS celebrates the spirit of excellence
Springs Boys’ High School recently held its Greens Evening to celebrate the exceptional achievements of its learners in both sports and culture.
Springs Boys’ High School hosted its annual Greens Evening to celebrate the exceptional achievements of learners in sports and culture on November 1.
The event brought together staff, learners, parents and special guests for an aspiring evening dedicated to recognising the dedication and accomplishments of the school’s talented learners.
Leadership coach and interim CEO of the South African Hockey Association, Shaune Baaitjies, shared her journey filled with challenges and triumphs she encountered over the past five years.
Baaitjies remarked on resilience, growth and determination, leaving the attendees motivated and eager to pursue excellence in all endeavours. SBHS educator Elize Rootman said the recognition highlighted the learners’ hard work, dedication and passion.

“This showcased the school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals who embody our values of perseverance and leadership,” said Rootman.
They also announced the school’s annual inter-house competition results at the event. House Cassel secured first place with its outstanding performance throughout the year.
Selcourt House followed in second with Struben, and Selection Houses taking third and fourth places.
“The Greens Evening once again proved to be a memorable occasion that captured the spirit of unity, dedication and achievement SBHS is known for,” said Rootman.
“As the evening concluded, learners were fueled with ambition and drive towards greater achievements in the future.”
