SOB cricket dominates with strong wins
The Springs Old Boys (SOB) Cricket Club showcased their talent over the weekend, dominating strong wins by the seniors and juniors against their opponents.
The Springs Old Boys (SOB) Cricket Club had an eventful weekend filled with victories and excellent turnout.
SOB’s promotion team faced Tokoza Cricket Club in a 50-over match.
Bowling first, SOB showcased exceptional skill with Jaco Potgieter delivering an impressive performance, taking five wickets with six overs and allowing 14 runs.
Zack Fourie took three wickets with three overs and nine runs, followed by Riaan van der Merwe with six overs, two maidens, eight runs and one wicket.

The team restricted their opponent to 47 runs all out. SOB chased the total down in the seventh over which saw Neil Joubert earning the best batsman title with 27 runs not out.
Potgieter received the match ball from coach Lionel Joubert for his five wickets during the match. SOB won the match by taking eight wickets.
The juniors also showcased their talent and determination with various matches that paired exceptionally well with their new cricket kit.

Their results are as follows:
- U10 Kingham dominated Vosloorus with 91 runs, showcasing their growing skills and confidence.
- U12 Impala displayed teamwork by defeating Avion 1 with a 10-wicket win.
- U12 Impala 2 followed closely with a hard-fought four wickets against Avion 2.
- U12 Kingham overpowered Benoni Northerns Scimitars, taking seven wickets.
- U12 Sibali had luck and skill on their side, they secured a win despite the rain.
- U14 Impala Green sealed off the matches by winning eight wickets over Midrand.
Cheanine Homan Kennedy from the club said they are proud of their teams and are anticipating memorable performances in the remainder of the season.
