The club looks forward to a successful season.

The Springs Old Boys Cricket Club’s promotion side began their season in style with a commanding win over Champions.

Batting first, the team posted 215 runs. SOB then showcased exceptional skill with Riaan van der Merwe taking 3/10 in six overs, which included two maidens. Jaco Potgieter took 3/23 in six overs.

The opposition was bowled out for 89 runs, giving SOB a 126-run victory. The top batsmen were Jonathan Diedericks (48), Corné Pretorius (53) and Bertie Visser (41).

On the junior side, the U12 Impala 1 team delivered an equally impressive performance, securing a 119-run victory over Old Bens.

Marcel Koen, with his 52 runs, helped his team to put up a dominant total. Not to be outdone, Caleb Jansen van Vuuren showed amazing batting skills by securing 47 runs and a stunning catch.

Sebastian Stratford took 3/6 in three overs, while Jayden Rossouw and Petrus Labuschagne took two wickets.
Imrich Pieters rounded off the game with three catches

“What an incredible start to the season. With both the promotion side and the juniors excelling, this promises to be a season to remember for SOBCC,” says Cheanine Homan Kennedy from the club.
