Birding club comes to Springs

The club welcomes beginners and enthusiasts.

The President Park Birding Club Springs is a birding club and the first of its kind in Springs.

The founding chairperson of the club, Sean Byrne, says they were recruiting new members.

“We are signing up about 16 members and another possible 10 plus prospective members.”

He adds the process for going with them on a birding excursion requires an indemnity form.

“Nobody will be allowed to go birding and walking without an indemnity form being signed.”

A meeting will be held this Saturday from 06:00 to about 08:00.

“The times we meet for our excursions will be subject to change due to, for example, weather conditions.”

Those walking will start at the Springs Mining and Military Museum (indoor section where it used to be Horse and Hound).

Bring along binoculars, a sunhat, preferably hiking boots and water bottles.

“Please note the routes are still being developed.”

Budding photographers are also welcome.

“The photographic opportunities are endless. Real positive vibes are coming out of this initiative.”

Sean thanked everyone for getting involved in making the club a possibility.
