Discover Springs: A guide to the town’s social calendar

Here is a look at what is happening in Springs.

• June 11 and 18
The Business Linkage Centre (BLC), a division of the Springs Chamber of Commerce, will be offering business training for local SMMEs. The initial training modules will focus on business and financial management. Sessions commence at 09:30. For more information, contact Fred Jones on 082 890 9298.

• June 16
Insimbi Legacy Projects is hosting a charity walk at 1 Wit Road which will include walks ranging from 3 to 5km. Pets and kids are welcome. The entry fee is a donation that will go towards protecting South African Rihinos. For more information, call Carmela D’Arringo on 083 448 5820.

• July 2
The Faith Over Fear women’s event returns. Bring your family and friends for an experience that will leave you feeling energised and ready to tackle life. The event is at Riverside Country Estate from 08:30 for 09:00. For more information on table bookings, call Martie de Villiers on 082 579 9755.

• July 19
It is that time of the year again for the Vita Nova annual fun walk/run. The lap is 2.5km, and the race has a carnival theme. The event will take place at Vita Nova, 2 Fisheagle Road, Daggafontein. For more information on entry fees, contact the centre on 082 372 8139 or email immelman@eject.co.za

• August 2
Women of Destiny will host a fundraiser for the Chosen Children’s Home. Attend a transformational one-day experience where women rise and connect. • Meat World Springs hosts a food market every Saturday from 06:30 to 14:00 and calls on all vendors to apply to participate. Send your name, ID number and the name and a photograph of the food product you wish to sell for consideration to marketing@meatworld.co.za or call 011 815 1494.

• The Springs Farmers’ Market runs every Saturday. Buy fresh, affordable produce, arts and crafts, delicious food and milk. The venue is Den Akker at President’s Park. It runs from 08:00 to 13:00.
