The newly elected Greater Springs Scholar Transport Association is calling on parents to help ensure the safety of their children.
The association is registered with the Gauteng East Transport Services under the Department of Roads and Transport.
The new committee members are:
Chairperson: Piya Mbonani; deputy chairperson: George Mokoena; secretary: Kgomotso Kutumela; deputy secretary: Vusimuzi Khumbuza; treasurer: Gladys Malohle; PRO: Ronny Lekhuleni; grievance officer: Thabo Mafuna; DC: Moses Thage; training officer: Musa Fayilani.
Parents are advised to check the following when selecting transport services in and around KwaThema:
• Stickers showing registration with a recognised association
• Type of vehicle (seven-seater, kombi, or taxi)
• No foreign number plates
This information helps both parents and the association trace the operator (driver). The association operates a patrol car that monitors how operators conduct themselves while transporting learners to and from school.
