Royal Kings FC looking for new players and community support in Springs
The newly launched Springs-based club trains weekly, aims to develop youth talent and join Gauteng Development League.
Royal Kings FC, a new soccer club launched in January, is seeking U11, U13, U15 and U17 players to join its ranks.
Based in Springs, the team trains on Fridays at Eureka Secondary School and plays matches on Saturdays. Currently, the squad consists of 16 players, including two girls.
Coach Nomasonto Mahlangu said she hopes to see both boys’ and girls’ teams grow and eventually compete in the Gauteng Development League.
“We started training in January and created our own league to play internal matches. Our first game took place two weeks ago. The aim is to develop these players and, ultimately, see them playing professional soccer one day,” she said.
Mahlangu, a former coach at Future Stars Football Academy, highlighted the critical role of parental involvement in youth sports.
“It’s vital for parents to encourage their children to participate in sport. At the same time, young people must also take initiative and show genuine interest in sporting activities,” she said.
She added that the team is in need of donations, including training equipment, team jerseys and other essentials. Anyone interested in making a donation or joining the team can contact Mahlangu on 065 925 2262.
