Five get arrested across Ekurhuleni for drugs worth over R10K

EMPD officers seized Mandrax, crystal meth, rock and dagga in a week-long operation across five areas, including Springs and Vosloorus.

EMPD officers arrested five suspects between June 9 and 15 in drug operations in various parts of the City of Ekurhuleni.

They arrested the suspects in Springs, Kempton Park, Alberton, Vosloorus and Daveyton following community tip-offs about individuals suspected of selling drugs in the areas.

The officers confiscated illegal substances worth R10 350, including Mandrax tablets, crystal meth, rock, and dagga. They also seized R150 in cash, suspected of being proceeds from the sale of the drugs.

The suspects, ranging from 23 to 50 years of age, were taken to their areas’ police stations and charged with possession of illicit drugs. They will soon appear in magistrate’s courts.
