Springs Premier FC U12 fall 5 – 2 to Daveyton All Stars in tough rematch
Despite two goals from Kellyson Madeira, Springs Premier FC U12 couldn’t hold off a dominant Daveyton All Stars side in a 5 – 2 loss. The visitors came back stronger after their previous narrow win.
Springs Premier FC U12 (L5) suffered a tough 5 – 2 loss against Daveyton All Stars during a match held at Veritas College on Thursday.
Springs Premier were hoping for a win in the rematch after narrowly losing 5 – 4 to the All Stars in a previous encounter. However, they fell short once again.
The All Stars took early control of the game, with Njabulo Sibiya opening the scoring. His teammate, Nikelani Shapo, quickly followed with the second goal.
Springs Premier managed to respond before half-time, with Kellyson Madeira finding the back of the net to keep his team in the contest.

In the second half, the All Stars returned with stronger play. Shapo added a third goal for his team. Despite the pressure, Madeira broke through the All Stars’ defence again to score his second of the match for Springs Premier.
With the game intensifying, Sibiya secured his hat-trick by netting two more goals before full-time, sealing the 5 – 2 victory for the All Stars.
Springs Premier coach Chosen Eddie expressed disappointment over the result, citing player absences due to school holidays and medical issues as a factor affecting the team’s morale.
“Some of our regular players were unavailable, and I had to bring in players from other divisions, including some newly signed ones,” said Eddie.

“It’s a disappointing result. I did not expect this outcome. We played this team before, but this time they brought a stronger side, which challenged us. There was also some confusion on the pitch, and I believe communication among the players was an issue.”
Despite the setback, Eddie said he sees progress among his players, especially as this is their first season together. All Stars coach Wandile Mahlangu said the win was part of the team’s plan and praised his players for following instructions and playing disciplined football.
“In our last match against Springs Premier, we saw their tactics and ball control. We worked on that during training, and I kept encouraging the boys to attend regularly,” said Mahlangu.
He added that he is proud of the team’s performance and looks forward to the second round with growing confidence in his squad.
