Lighthouse Community Centre to host career day expo for youth in Springs
Young people in Springs are invited to explore their future career and study options at the Lighthouse Community Centre’s Career Day Expo on July 19.
The Lighthouse Community Centre invites the community to a career day expo on July 19 at 82 Charterland Avenue, Selcourt.
This event forms part of the community development centre’s strategy of empowering youth with information to support informed decisions about their future and careers.
“The aim of this event is not only to guide prospective students on how to apply to institutions of higher learning but also to provide them with realistic insight into student life, helping them make informed decisions about their academic and career paths,” said Mahlale Mokoena, co-ordinator of the community development centre.
He revealed the event will feature keynote addresses by professionals in various industries, information stalls by institutions of higher learning, and a help desk.
“We are inviting institutions and professionals to set up information stalls, offer one-on-one engagement opportunities, and share insights on qualifications, application processes, funding, and career development. Each participating institution will be allocated its own area for student interaction,” he said.
