Springs Old Boys look to bounce back after loss to Crusaders

Despite a solid effort, the Springs Old Boys fell short against Boksburg’s CBC Crusaders, who currently top the league standings.

The Springs Old Boys Cricket Club faced off against the CBC Crusaders from Boksburg on Saturday in a match that ended in a decisive win for the Crusaders.

Strong bowling by the CBC side restricted the Old Boys to 140 runs, sealing the victory for the league leaders. The CBC Crusaders currently sit at the top of the Eastern Storms Veterans League log with 19 points, followed by the Alberton Striders.

The Springs Old Boys hold fourth place with five points. The league, which began on June 29, features 18 competing teams. So far, the Old Boys have secured one win this season.

Team member Lionel Joubert shared an optimistic outlook:
“The team isn’t having a bad season overall. We are in the middle of the log. We plan on being consistent with our batting, bowling, and fielding.”
