Advent One donates 150 corrugated iron sheets to help rebuild Slovo Park after explosion

Advent One donates roofing sheets to help Slovo Park residents rebuild after the July 4 explosion.

As part of the effort to rebuild Slovo Park, Advent One is one of the businesses in Springs helping with the recovery.

The construction company has donated 150 corrugated iron sheets to the affected community. The rebuild comes after the explosion occurred on July 4, leaving 10 homes affected.

Felicia du Preez, Advent One’s administration director, said that as a company located in the area, they felt a strong responsibility to support our neighbours after the explosion.

She said that as soon as they heard about the impact it had on residents, they knew that they had to help in any way they could.

They engaged with the local ward councillor, Charmaine Kock, who helped them understand the immediate needs of the community.

“Roof sheeting was identified as a critical requirement, as many homes had been damaged.

“We chose to donate roof sheeting specifically because it would make a meaningful difference in helping residents begin to rebuild their homes and restore some stability,” said DU Preez.

Du Preez hopes that the donation will bring relief to the affected families. She said that in the weeks and months ahead, they hope this support contributes to a stronger, more resilient Slovo Park.

Kock expressed gratitude for the donation by Advent One. She said the community and businesses of Springs have been phenomenal in helping with the rebuilding process.

“The devastation left behind by the explosion and each act of kindness restores my hope in humanity. What has been done for the residents in Slovo Park is proof of this,” concluded Kock.
