Truck driver arrested in Springs for bogus licence disc
A 41-year-old truck driver was arrested by EMPD officers in Springs after he was found driving with a fraudulent licence disc on the N12 freeway.
EMPD community liaison officers arrested a 41-year-old truck driver for displaying a bogus licence disc on the vehicle in Springs on Tuesday.
The EMPD said that the officers spotted the white Fuso truck travelling on the N12 freeway eastbound and instructed the driver to pull over.
“The officers inspecting the vehicle noticed that the licence disc and the vehicle’s number plate do not match,” said the EMPD.
According to the EMPD, further investigation showed that the licence disc had been fraudulently documented.
The EMPD said that the officers arrested the man and detained him at the Springs SAPS, while his vehicle was taken to the
Aeroton SAPS pound for further investigation. The suspect, facing charges of fraud, is expected to appear at the Springs Magistrates’ Court soon.
