Leratong Crisis Centre hosts fundraising jumble sale to support GBV survivors

Join hands with Leratong to build a safer future for vulnerable women and children.

Leratong A Place of Crisis Centre is inviting the community to a fundraising jumble sale on September 27 at 09:00 at 31 Oppenheimer Circle, Selection Park.

“We would highly appreciate it if you could donate old clothes, books, furniture, or anything you no longer use. These items will be sold at the event to raise funds.

“All proceeds will go towards the benefit of the women and children we take good care of at the shelter. We also accept monetary donations,” said Nthabiseng Malotane, the centre’s board member and fundraiser.

She explained that although the shelter is partially funded by the Department of Social Development, it relies mostly on donations. Leratong is the only shelter that serves the whole Ekurhuleni area to shelter GBV victims.

“People can also expect to purchase bracelets made by our very own residents. Remember, a hand that gives is a hand that receives. Paying it forward is the best gift for yourself,” she said.
