Springs businesswoman nominated for prestigious award

A powerful example of resilience and innovation, Monica Willemse’s leadership is being celebrated on a national platform.

Springs resident Monica Willemse, director of African Rewinders, a long-standing armature winding business in Brakpan, has been nominated for the prestigious 2026 Woman of Stature Awards South Africa.

The 2026 WOS Awards, now in its 11th season, anticipates at least 800 nominations nationwide. The awards celebrate and honour exceptional women who are making a significant impact across various sectors.

Recognised for her remarkable contributions to the armature winding business, Monica stands as an inspiration to many, embodying the essence of excellence, resilience, and vision.

This nomination celebrates her unwavering commitment to be the best CEO for her employees, as well as a leader in the rewinding of electric motors and related services industry.

“I am honoured to be nominated for the Woman of Stature Awards. I believe this platform is an incredible opportunity to connect with other change-makers and amplify the work we do in our communities and industries,” said Monica.

The Woman of Stature Awards seek women of exceptional calibre – leaders, innovators, and change-makers, whose impact is felt not only in their industries but also in their communities.

The awards continue to amplify female voices, showcase success stories, and foster empowerment within South Africa and beyond.

The Woman of Stature Awards South Africa has grown into one of the most sought-after recognition platforms for South African women making their mark across industries.

It is the sister company to the Woman of Stature Foundation, which ensures that recognition translates into tangible empowerment, including mentorship, training, and networking.

“I firmly believe that empowering and celebrating women’s achievements is pivotal in fostering a more equitable and prosperous society. The Woman of Stature Awards stand as a testament to the incredible strength, resilience, and contributions of women across South Africa, and globally.

“Together, we illuminate the path for future generations to thrive and make their mark on the world,” said Charlotte du Plessis, founder and CEO of the Woman of Stature brand.

The Woman of Stature’s written goal for the coming years is to reach and positively impact at least 10 000 women through its awards and programmes.

This year they have included a regional award process with plans to roll out to other regions across South Africa. This new approach, which was launched in Cape Town, is part of a broader vision to make the awards more accessible across the country.
