Greater Springs Soup Kitchen expands with fourth location

With a new site on Nigel Road, the soup kitchen continues to grow its impact and is calling on the community to support its upcoming Christmas drive.

The Greater Springs Soup Kitchen continues to grow its impact in the community, making its services more accessible with the addition of a fourth location.

The new site 59 Oppenheimer Circle in Selection Park, near Nigel Road.

“We are thrilled to add another spot to our growing initiative. Our goal is to create a haven for those in need who aren’t sure where their next meal will come from,” said Franci Swanepoel, founder of the soup kitchen.

Franci is also raising funds for the Christmas drive.

“We plan to give out gifts on the last Saturday before Christmas, and would appreciate the community’s support in making this a reality for the people we serve every Saturday,” she said.

Volunteers are asked to arrive an hour before the 16:00 start. Anyone wishing to contribute can do so at 15:00 on Saturdays or by contacting Swanepoel at 064 580 4852.

The soup kitchen operates every Saturday at 16:00 at the following locations:
• Meat Mecca parking lot
• Geduld opposite Rebel
• Strubenvale opposite Spar
• Selection Park (new location)
