Ekurhuleni athletes take on RAC Tough One 2025 marathon
Five members of the City of Ekurhuleni Athletics Club participated in the RAC Tough One 2025 marathon in Randburg, competing in distances from 10km to 32km.
Five members from the City of Ekurhuleni Athletics Club participated in the RAC Tough One 2025 marathon in Randburg on November 23.
The marathon has races ranging from 5km to 32km.
Tshepo Matlaisane, Phuti Mphela and Doreen Mucachua took part in the 10 km while Lephakga William Mabokachaba and Siyabonga Mkansi ran the 32km race.
The club’s spokesperson, Noko Matlou, said although the members have not yet reached their target, they have tried their utmost best and have set an above-standard for themselves.

“A healthy mind needs a healthy body, so we encourage all the citizens to stay healthy and fit for their own well-being to add more days to their lives,” Matlou said.
He applauded the club’s members who have been consistently competing in various events throughout the year.
“We salute all who went the extra mile to make sure their fitness and health are taken care of throughout the year.
“We wish them a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year as well as a safe journey wherever they’ll be travelling,” he said.
10km results:
– Tshepo Matlaisane – 37 minutes 44 seconds
– Phuti Mphela – 10 hours 10 minutes
– Doreen Mucachua – 10 hours 10 minutes
32km results:
– Siyabonga Mkansi – 3 hours 25 minutes
– William Mabokachaba – 3 hours 25 minutes
