Springs Tigers opens doors to young footballers
The Springs Tigers Football Club encourages children aged four to 17 to join, offering skill development, equal playtime and a supportive environment.
The Springs Tigers Football Club is calling on boys and girls across Springs and Kwatsaduza aged 4 to 17 to join the club.
The club’s home ground is based at Selpark Primary School, but practice at the corner of Nigel Road and Davis Drive between Tuesday and Friday from 17:00 to 18:00.
The club’s founder, Shalom Mazibuko, explained that they are a team where kids play freely with no pressure for immediate results, as they are all about developing talent.
As a club with six divisions, Mazibuko said that the aim this year is to have a division for each age group.

He also said that the club’s team of coaches has been in the children’s soccer space for a while and, being parents themselves, have seen a few things over the years.
“We have a powerful ethos that ‘all children must play’; this again speaks to us focusing on development, which is essential for their tender age. We believe it is demoralising for a child to attend a match and not be given game time, not to mention the effort of the parent who drove all the way to see their little one play. It is disheartening to witness this, and we knew in our club that all children would get a chance to showcase their talent on the field,” said Mazibuko.
The team currently participates in the Easterns Local Football Association (ELFA) and expressed excitement to showcase its capabilities and talents and play against other teams.
