Springs Regional Court sentences woman to life imprisonment for murdering boyfriend

Nomsombuluko Majola (39) was convicted of stabbing and killing her boyfriend in an incident that happened in 2024.

The Springs Regional Court sentenced a 39-year-old woman to life imprisonment for stabbing and killing her boyfriend in 2024. According to police spokesperson Captain Neldah Sekgobela, police responded to a report of a murder on March 15, 2024 in Springs Extension.

“Upon arrival at the scene, officers found paramedics already present. They were directed to a room where a man was found lying on the floor in a pool of blood with stab wounds on his body,” Sekgobela said.

Sekgobela said the victim was declared dead by paramedics at the scene. She added that the accused, Nosombuluko Majola, and another man had allegedly been seen leaving the premises shortly after the incident.

“Three knives and broken mirrors with blood stains were found at the scene. The room was in disarray, indicating a struggle had taken place,” she said.

Sekgobela said a case of murder was registered at SAPS Springs and allocated to Warrant Officer Albert van Wyk for investigation.

“After a few weeks, the girlfriend was arrested. Through the thorough investigation by Van Wyk, the accused was found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment,” Sekgobela added.
