Springs SPCA manager seeks help to find missing dog in Selcourt
Annecia le Roux is asking residents to assist in finding her small Chihuahua-cross, Dumbalina who went missing on March 12.
Springs SPCA manager Annecia le Roux has appealed to the public for assistance in locating her missing dog, Dumbalina, a Chihuahua-cross who disappeared from the Selcourt area on March 12.
Le Roux, who works closely with animal welfare cases in the community, said she is now relying on the same public support she often encourages when animals go missing.
“For years, I have been the one you call when an animal is in distress. Today, I am asking for help.
“She isn’t just a pet, she is my family. The silence in my home since she disappeared is a weight I can’t describe. I am reaching out to the community I serve to help me bring my girl home,”she said.
Dumbalina weighs just over 2kg. She has chocolate brown and white colouring, with a fully brown head and freckles on her stomach. She also has distinct green eyes and a noticeable walk due to a deformity in her feet.

According to Le Roux, the dog is gentle in nature and may be frightened.
“She is soft and likely scared. Please do not chase her,” she said.
Residents in Selcourt and surrounding areas are requested to check their properties, including garages, sheds, and dense vegetation where a small dog may seek shelter. Le Roux has also encouraged the public to share information with neighbours and local workers, as any sighting could assist in locating Dumbalina.
“I am reaching out to the community to help bring her home,” she said.
A reward is being offered for Dumbalina’s safe return. Anyone with information may contact Le Roux on 083 282 3565.
