Roads Department renew efforts to tackle potholes in Ekurhuleni
A R40m injection into Ekurhuleni’s Roads Department aims to fast-track pothole repairs and address growing community concerns over deteriorating roads.
A recent enquiry to the City of Ekurhuleni about pothole complaints across the city that have gone mostly ignored received a positive and encouraging response.
“The city is aware of the challenge of these potholes, and we will be attending to it,” said city spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.
“However, limited budgets normally hinder our progress in dealing with some of the issues reported by communities.
“Be that as it may, the community will be happy to know that an additional R40m has been allocated to the roads department to deal with road patching and potholes between now and the end of June.
“This budget will be spread across Ekurhuleni,” he said.
