A woman was shot outside her residence in Strubenvale when multiple gunshots were fired through her vehicle’s window on July 8.

According to Springs SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Charity Zwane, upon arrival at the scene, police officers found community members assisting a woman who was lying on the ground.

“It is alleged that the victim was arriving at her residence and was alone in her vehicle when unknown suspects fired several shots through the vehicle window,” she said.

The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her upper body and is receiving medical attention.

“The motive for the shooting remains unknown, and the circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation. No arrests have been made at this stage,” Zwane said.
