EMPD by-law operation clamps down on non-compliance in Springs
Various goods were confiscated from non-compliant hawkers.
EMPD By-Law Compliance and Enforcement Unit officers conducted a strategic by-laws operation in Springs on September 25, resulting in the confiscation of goods.
According to the EMPD, the main purpose of the operation was to ensure legal compliance of businesses and informal traders.
During the operation, Welgedacht, R29, Enstra and adjacent roads were visited.
Brick manufacturing machines, spades, a rake, brooms, wheelbarrows, a drill machine and a bucket of tools, as well as a bucket of snacks, a bucket of chips, a blanket and a box of cigarettes were confiscated from non-compliant hawkers.
The EMPD’s By-law compliance and Enforcement Unit will continue with similar operations to ensure compliance with the law and that the city stays safe and clean.
