EMPD arrests three undocumented suspects in Springs

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department apprehended three undocumented men during a patrol in Springs on February 23.

EMPD Tracing Unit officers apprehended three undocumented men on February 23 in the Springs area.

According to the EMPD, while patrolling the area, officers came across three pedestrians who were stopped and searched.

“Law enforcers noticed that the foreign national trio were not in possession of any form of identification before they were handcuffed and taken to the Springs Police Station,” said the metro police.

The detained suspects are facing charges of contravention of Section 49(1) of The Immigration Act (Act 13 of 2002) and are expected to appear before the relevant magistrate’s court soon.
