KD4U Fitness hosts 5km fun run in support of Springs SPCA

KD4U Fitness hosted a 5km fun run at Strubenvale Circle to raise funds and collect donations for the Springs SPCA.

Local gym KD4U Fitness hosted a 5km fun run on February 28 at the Strubenvale Circle’s parking lot. The run was aimed at raising funds and collecting donations for the Springs SPCA.

The owner of the gym and personal trainer, Kristel Olivier, told the Springs Advertiser that the run was a success, with great turnout from runners, walkers, families, and even furry friends who came together to support a great cause.

Olivier said that from start to finish, the atmosphere was filled with energy, smiles, and community spirit. She explained that the route was safe and well-managed, with marshals positioned along the way to guide participants and ensure everything ran smoothly.

“It was truly special to see people of all ages taking part, from competitive runners chasing a personal best to families enjoying a relaxed walk together,” said Olivier.

Olivier also thanked the participants who donated to the local animal shelter. The SPCA’s chairperson, Nicky Meiring, told the publication that Olivier is no stranger to the shelter, as she has also hosted fitness sessions at the society.

“We are always most grateful when the community chooses us as recipients of their initiatives, as there are so many options and organisations in need.”

“Thank you, Kristel and the KD4U Fitness family and community for once again opening your hearts and for supporting us – we really do appreciate it,” concluded Meiring.
