Flying squad seizes 120 boxes of suspected illicit cigarettes in Nuffield

The Johannesburg Flying Squad receiver information about illicit cigarettes which they followed up on.

The Johannesburg Flying Squad recently discovered over 120 boxes filled with cigarettes, which are alleged to be illicit, at a warehouse in Nuffield.

According to Springs police spokesperson Sergeant Charity Zwane, the flying squad members followed up on information regarding illicit cigarettes.

“Upon arrival at a warehouse in Nuffield, the officers conducted a search of premises and discovered 122 boxes of cigarettes suspected to be illicit,” she said.

Zwane added that the cigarettes were seized and booked in at the Springs Police Station. No arrests have been made.
