Letter: Kind care at Life Springs Parkland Hospital receives high praise

Emma Thandiwe thanks the staff of Parkland Hospital for the wonderful service, and their professionalism.

Emma Thandiwe from Kwa-Thema, currently residing in Empangeni, writes:

I wish to share my experience regarding my admission to Life Parkland Hospital in Springs.

To Dr Khoza and Dr Luthuli, thank you for your excellent service and for saving my life; you are truly amazing.

To the theatre staff, you were such a great team. Thank you for your professionalism, teamwork and for taking such good care of me during a very scary moment.

To the ICU team, Sister Zabo Mahambehlala, Sister Busi Nkosi and Dakalo, thank you for treating me in such a special way.

You were compassionate and excellent. Thank you for making sure that my transfer to Life The Glynnwood Hospital in Benoni was managed well.

To hospital manager Cora Muller, thank you very much for being understanding and supportive; coming out of your office to check on me meant a lot.

Thank you once again for listening to my concerns and taking them into consideration.

A very special thank you to Sister Lungi, the unit manager, who left everything to make sure I was supported and cared for.

Even while off duty, she went out of her way to take my belongings to my family when I was prepared to be transferred to Life The Glynnwood. Such kindness is rare.

Yourkindness will stay with me forever. You are an amazing team; may all your patients experience what I have experienced in your care.
