Springs young cricketer excels at LPL U11 Division 1 Series
Springs Old Boys Cricket Club player Zach Prinsloo was named batter and player of the series after helping his team clinch the LPL U11 Division 1 title.
A young cricketer from the Springs Old Boys Cricket Club has made his community proud with an impressive performance at the LPL U11 Division 1 Series held from September 24 to 27.
Zach Prinsloo (11) competed against strong young cricket talent during the four-day series. Zach played an important role in his team’s successful campaign, which culminated in them being crowned U11 Division 1 Champions for 2026.
He received several individual accolades for his performances, including being named the batter of the series, player of the series and man of the match on two occasions.

“He was also awarded the prestigious player of the series title for his overall contribution and performances across the competition,” said his mother, Christelle.
She described how at just 11 years old, these achievements represent a significant milestone in Zach’s young cricket journey.
“His success is the result of continued commitment to the sport, regular training and a passion for developing his skills,” she said.
Zach receives private coaching from Morne van Schalkwyk, who continues to assist him in developing his cricket and taking his game to the next level.

“Away from the cricket field, Zach is a learner at Selection Park Primary School, where his sporting achievements are a source of great pride for his family and those who support his cricket journey.
“For Zach and his family, the LPL U11 Division 1 Series will undoubtedly be remembered as a special chapter in his young sporting career, not only for being part of a championship-winning team, but for being recognised individually as one of the standout performers of the series,” Christelle said.
With his recent performance, Zach has given the Springs community and his family something to celebrate.
