Bradley Edwards, an ex-Springs Boys’ High School pupil, came second in the 20 to 24 age group in the recent 2013 World Cross Triathlon Championships in the Netherlands.

The Cross Triathlon comprises of a 1km sea swim where wetsuits were used as the water temperature was 16°C, a mountain bike route of 27km and a 9km run.

The mountain bike and run each consisted of three laps over dunes and beaches.

“It was an awesome experience, with totally new racing conditions for me,” says Bradley, who is in his second year studying industrial engineering at the University of Pretoria.
